Richard Jenkins in all his wisdom decided to create the VATSIM ATC Hotline posted in the VATSIM forum that can be found here:
http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50082
Basically it says that if your ATC training is delayed on VATSIM that you should contact a some stiff at VATSIM to complain about it. What else can tell these guys that there is something wrong with their system. It’s like it’s right in their faces and they cannot see it. They are after all the ones that made this mess and now they are basically admitting that their system is not working. You can go to any other network and things don’t work like that. When you want ATC training you get it, not like here where they fuck with people. If Richard really cared he would let someone else come up with solutions to this problem and not him.
In other sad VATSIM news Kyle Ramsay had some more stupid things to say to fellow flight simmers that can be read on this post:
http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=392135#p392135
Where he says: “Stop pitching your personal VA’s.”
The only place that this fool can talk freely is on VATSIM. Anywhere else he would get told off. Whoever made him a VP of anything has to be just as numb and negative as he is. The apple does not fall far from the tree, beleive us.
VATSIM offers virtual airlines to become partners with VATSIM where this is essentially no more then a link exchange. Firstly, you are required to have their logo and link predominently placed on your home page, but they hide your virtual airline’s website and place it on a website that isn’t even VATSIM’s but is only affiliated with VATSIM. It takes people forever on VATSIM to find your virtual airline and is easier to find it on search engines. As the owner of a virtual airline I can tell you that very few people ever find you through VATSIM as opposed to search engines and other virtual airline related sites such as AVSIM, Fly Away Simulation, SimMiles, Virtual Skies and IVAO where people can actually find it. I know this from running statistics on my virtual airline.
Then there is the factor that Kyle Ramsey is the guy in charge of these so called VATSIM Virtual Airline partners. Like all of the owners and VATGOV at VATSIM Kyle Ramsey just does whatever he wants to. We have seen him approve virtual airlines for VATSIM partnership that do not meet the requirements just because he is friends with the owners. Then there are times that people you work hard to meet the requirements never get a reply from him after they apply for VATSIM Virtual Airline partnership just because Kyle Ramsey doesn’t like them.
For those virtual airlines that do get VATSIM virtual airline partnership status it is a total rippoff!
VATSIM gets all the traffic that comes to your virtual airline, but they hardly provide your virtual airline with any. They do this on purpose so that they win and not you! If you want my opinion being a VATSIM virtual airline partner is a rippoff and should be boycotted until they give their so called “valued members” something in return and not just keep free loading off of other people’s hard work. But then again, they can do whatever they want to, VATSIM belongs to them and they can mistreat people if that’s what suits them at the time.
FUCK YOU KYLE!
In the following VATSIM Forum posting Harv Stein makes the following statement:
http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50540
“Cannot believe it has been 9 years since we opened for business. Thank you to all who
helped build this world organization and most of all thanks to all of our members. I remember planning the opening with my fellow founders and planned on having no more
than 10,000 members. How small our thinking was back then. Little did we know that
one day we would be the worlds largest all volunteer, online air traffic simulation organization. I will fly online that day to celebrate our history. Blue Skies, Harv.”
He claims that VATSIM is “the world’s largest all volunteer online air traffic simulation organization”. This is actually completely not true and another bold faced lie to VATSIM Members. IVAO is actually the worlds largest all volunteer online air traffic simulation organization with over 300,000 members while VATSIM only has around 200,000, with a maximum of only about 10,000 that were active within the past month.
Why is it that Harv Stein would lie to all of his VATSIM Members? Is it because he just feels inadequate, wants to just make people think that VATSIM ATC is the biggest and best, and most importantly keep the truth from his VATSIM members. It is clear that VATSIM wants to control not only what their members know but what their members think too now. What a loser, seriously. How small their thinking is still. 9 Years of lying to people, YAY!!
The SimMiles Corporation is an organization that specializes in creating airline simulation and flight simulation software. SimMiles has developed some of the most sophisticated and advanced airline simulation and server client software available to the flight simulation community. This airline simulation software was incorporated to work with VATSIM but SimMiles started it’s own flight simulation network and client software as it felt that VATSIM’s did not meet it’s needs.
VATSIM had approached SimMiles expressing interest in merging the networks allowing SimMiles to take advantage of VATSIM’s volume and allowing VATSIM to take advantage of SimMiles’s advanced software and sponsors, all while retaining the VATSIM name. However, SimMiles had rejected this offer since VATSIM demanded unconditional licensing to this software as a condition of this partnership. SimMiles accused VATSIM of taking advantage of other people’s hard work and offering nothing in return for it. Of course VATSIM denies any of this because they want to know how bad they really messed up, but all of the evidence is in VATSIM’s hidden forums, that of course they don’t let anyone see because they don’t want people to know these private things.
After SimMiles had rejected VATSIM, VATSIM got fustrated, intimidated, offended, insulted, angry and threatened which ensued a smeer campaign by VATSIM’s senior staff to undermine the integrity of SimMiles so that VATSIM members do not participate in the SimMiles organization. This was started by sending out a mass e-mail to all of it’s members stating that SimMiles was harvesting VATSIM IDs and passwords. Of course SimMiles has no benefit from doing this. VATSIM depends on the spreading of propaganda and using their percieved credibility by members to sustain the loyalty of VATSIM members to VATSIM.
The truth is that word about their poor attitudes and character is getting around and they will not be able to get themselves out of the hole that they have dug themselves. The truth is that VATSIM will say and do anything they can to undermine SimMiles in anger and fear. It is very important that people realize this and not take everything that you hear at face value, because you really cannot. As a VATSIM Supervisor I can tell you that the only people VATSIM cares about is VATSIM. Anyone or anything that threatens them, they attack. VATSIM is trying to pressure people out of participating in SimMiles creating a wall to keep people in VATSIM, so don’t fall for everything they tell you.
VATSIM wants to smeer and undermine the integrity of the SimMiles organization and making it known as “SimMiles the bad” because they are afraid of people jumping over to SimMiles, and they have reason to be worried. SimMiles is supported financially by large corporations, Government agencies and educational institutions because of it’s good work. All of these organizations have a financial interest in the organization and this makes SimMiles bullet proof to anything that the senior staff of VATSIM can do. SimMiles does not depend on VATSIM in any way shape or form. They are completely independent and can sustain themselves without the support of the entire VATSIM community. However, losing their members is something that VATSIM is very worried about.
But this is not where VATSIM’s smeer campaign has ended. Senior staff at VATSIM have been smeering SimMiles in the private VATSIM forum, and on their partner’s websites forums such as in Divisions and vACCs and ARTCCs. They have been telling people that the owner’s of the SimMiles Corporation have stabbed them in the back and have created their own network because they were wronged on the VATSIM network and this is retaliation for that. This is actually not true, the reason that SimMiles started it’s own network is because the agencies that own and fund it required SimMiles to have control of their own network that makes it unconditional for participation of those that need to. If the SimMiles system were to be kept on the VATSIM network SimMiles would be too restricted to control activities on the network.
Recently VATSIM’s Kyle Ramsay has initiated his own retaliation campaign against SimMiles by not allowing their VAs to become VATSIM Virtual Airline partners. Of course Kyle Ramsay is probably the most upset about the falling out because the airline simulation system would have been a huge asset to the VATSIM virtual airline community.
It should be pointed out that all that VATSIM virtual airline partnership means is essentially a link exchange. VATSIM expects you to put their link and logo on your home page, but they hide your VA from view on their website. The reality is that altough it may be really cool to be a VATSIM virtual airline partner, it actually has little to absolutely no help in getting members to a virtual airline since very few people use VATSIM to search for virtual airlines. Most people will just use search engines to find the virtual airline that they want to join.
VATSIM staff are able to actually track the private messages sent by both pilots and ATC and do so on a regular basis to gather intelligence on what is going on with certain topics behind their backs to for identifying anyone that is engaging in misconduct.
So your private messages on VATSIM are actually not private, and you have no right to expect privacy on the network. If you want to talk about anything that you think you don’t want VATSIM staff to be able to read or know about then invite the person you are communicating with away from the VATSIM Network.
VATSIM tracks all of it’s users by collecting their IP and computer’s identification information. If you are ever banned from the VATSIM network then all you have to do to get back on the network is to change your IP address, computer and “real name”. If you change either your IP address or computer that is not enough. You may also want to change the country of your residence and secret security question just to make sure.
VATSIM really cannot ban you from using their network because the only way that they can track users is by their IP address and computer’s id. So if you are banned from a VATSIM Network no matter what the reason you can always reconnect by doing that.
Contrary to what VATSIM tell pilots and ATC and what VATSIM wants you to beleive, VATSIM staff, owners and Board of Governors actually have no real authority. This is unless ofcourse you think that disconnecting people from an online flying and ATC network is really authority.
On Novenber 6th 2008 the one of the Founders of VATSIM published the following Letter to the VATSIM Community in the VATSIM Forum which can be read here: http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=35019
This letter details how certain groups on VATSIM have become exclusive and running a gang style of operation. The following people is the largest of these gangs making the network exclusive are the VATSIM Founders:
Back just over a year ago Richard Jenkins promised everyone that the hit squad would be going next to Kenya. Ofcourse this never took place, neither did anymore activities with the hit squad after that anywhere. What happened to VATSIM’s hit squad? Did the leadership of that too fail? They changed their minds and decided not to go to Kenya, but they did not announce that to everyone the same way that they made splashes. So why did Richard lie to everyone about VATSIM’s hit squad going to Kenya and then shut up about it after that?
